Qwest Communications’ claim against Lake County for what it reports as damages to a buried cable in Finland should have been filed against Crystal bay Township, county coordinator Matt Huddleston said this week.
Qwest Communications has filed a claim against Lake County for what it reports as damages to a buried cable in Finland. In a notice of claim sent June 7, Qwest said highway department workers installing a street sign in Finland damaged the cable.
The lines have been drawn and neither side is budging. Duluth Steam Cooperative has issued its rebuttal to a claim for damages filed by Qwest after fiber optic lines were melted under a Duluth street in January.
The Minnesota President of Qwest was in Two Harbors Wednesday to talk with county officials about the fiber optic line break Jan. 26. John Stanoch met with Lake County Sheriff Carey Johnson and board members.
