The 10-inch rainfall on June 19 and 20 changed plans for Northland residents from Two Harbors to Duluth to Sturgeon Lake. For much of the region, life quickly returned to normal. But for some residents, normalcy remains elusive four months later.
Dense fog across much of the Northland this morning may give way to strong, possibly severe thunderstorms across the region this afternoon. In the wake of the storms, light snow is possible on Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for much of the Northland, including Duluth and the Iron Range, through Thursday evening as a slow-moving storm system may drop in excess of 4 inches of rain in some areas.
