Perhaps there’s a reason that Brjen Jones has the face of a cherub. He probably wouldn’t admit it, but there’s a chance he’s hiding angel wings and a halo somewhere. The evidence is in his living room— the 127 blankets he’s collected for homeless kids in the Arrowhead. His mom, Janelle, said they were planning to make four stops Monday afternoon to collect more from local donors.

Voyageur Artists exhibit opens this weekend
The Voyageur Artists, a group of local art enthusiasts, held its first show on June 30, 1964, at the Paramount Building in Two Harbors. The group, initially just eight people who took an art course together, still exists today.

Lake Superior Community Theater executive director Paul Deaner admits that producing a tragedy is a departure from the upbeat musicals that are the bread and butter of many small theater companies. Undaunted, he has chosen to bring Arthur Miller’s Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play, “Death of a Salesman,” to the Silver Bay stage this month.

The Friends of the Finland Community presented a $100,000 check to Crystal Bay Township at its annual meeting in March. It’s the culmination of the group’s fundraising efforts over the course of six years and it will go directly towards the debt remaining from the construction of the Clair Nelson Center in Finland.
