Poetry in the Park
Local women Ruth, Micky, and Diane gathered on Monday evening at Thomas Owens Park to read their original poetry. Some were about the big lake in honor of Lake Superior, a few were about quilting, and others were about the changing of seasons. This was the first time the Friends of Two Harbors Library event was held in Thomas Owens Park; it usually takes place in the library. 11-year-old Katrina impressed with a rousing recitation of the Gettysburg Address and readings of her own poems such as “Time,” “Devil,” and “Hm.”
