Tech programs in area high schools proving successful
Last summer a manufacturers’ committee was formed in Lake County. It consisted of school district employees, business owners, manufacturers and the Two Harbors Area Chamber of Commerce. Its mission was to address the need for local welders and millwrights to fill job vacancies.

Mr. Johnson's opus spreads Christmas joy around the world
Daryl Johnson has been conducting choirs since the 1950s. Thirty-two of those years have been in Two Harbors, at the high school and in the community. He has taught and directed generations of students — some of whom are now in their 60s — and he shows no signs of slowing down.

While some are content to spend their time hunkered down by the woodstove with a good book or other indoor activity, many eagerly await the arrival of snow and cold because they mean dusting off the snowmobile and heading for the trails.
