Richard (Dick) Allen Hellman, age 68, of Two Harbors, passed away Saturday, May 11, at the Solvay House from esophageal cancer.
Dick was born June 21, 1944, in Biwabik, Minn., to Hugo and Gladys Hellman. On August 6, 1966, Dick married Ann Aldinger in Aurora, Minn.
Dick was a logger, worked in construction and in mining until he found the best job of his life, Serco Loaders, where he welded for 29 years. Dick served in the armed forces in Korea, from 1964–66.
Dick was preceded in death by an infant son, Todd Allen, and an infant daughter, Jodi Ann; his mother, Gladys.
He will be deeply missed and still loved by his surviving wife of 46 years, Sharon; daughter Sheila Marie Bissell; grandson Brandon Todd (Elasah Dempsey) Hellman; his dog, Dixon; father, Hugo; siblings Gerald Mealy, Calvin, Steve and Kevin; brothers-in-law, Dan Mealy, Albert (Nancy) Aldinger, Kenneth (Yadia) Aldinger, Mark (Julie) Aldinger; sister-in-law, Barbara (Randy) Merritt; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and many friends including Sister mary Felton, Connie, Lisa, Jaime and Bryan, who were all like family.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 at the Two Harbors Moose Club. Family interment will be at a later date.
