Lenora Irene Hanson passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 27, at Lake View Memorial Hospital, Two Harbors, at age 95.
She was born April 24, 1917, in Fort Ripley, Minn., to Lester and Minnie Bratt, the eldest of ten children.
Lenora worked at home until her children were all in school, at which time she was hired as a cook at Lake View Memorial Hospital, retiring as Head Cook in 1982. She was a wonderful cook who loved to “have company” and was well known for her pies and cinnamon rolls. Lenora was a unique lady, who will be missed by family and friends alike.
Lenora was preceded in death by her husband, Gustave “Gus” Hanson; a son, Scott; grandson, Quinn Pederson; four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Gary (Gail) of Two Harbors, Curtiss (MaryBeth) of Little Falls and Donn of Superior; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara (Dee) Degerstedt of Duluth and Jean Avery of Brainerd.
Gathering of family and friends from 12 p.m. until the 1 p.m. memorial service Saturday, April 6, at The United Church, 531 Third Ave., Two Harbors. Committal service will be held at Fort Ripley at a later date.
