Thomas Olson, 76, of Two Harbors, passed away Sunday, March 10, at Ecumen Scenic Shores, Two Harbors.
Born June 2, 1936, in Duluth to Edwin and Lola Olson, he grew up in Duluth and Two Harbors. Thomas worked for Reserve Mining for 28 years before retiring with a medical heart problem. He had a heart transplant in 1993 at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis, 20 years ago Feb. 10.
Thomas was a 50 year member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Two Harbors.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, three brothers and a sister.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Dianne, of 47 years; two sons, Gary (Betsy) and Duane; three granddaughters, Ashley (Duane), Kristen and Amanda (Garrett); one great-granddaughter, Olivia; a brother, Leonard; lots of nieces and nephews.
Gathering of family and friends will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 at the Moose Club, 709 First Avenue, Two Harbors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Minnesota Heart Transplant Center.
Arrangements entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota.
