Shirley J. Davies of Two Harbors passed away Thursday, Feb. 14 after a brief stay in hospice at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Shirley was born on Nov. 4, 1920, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Clifford and Leta Pierce.
She graduated from Miss Wood’s Kindergarten and Primary Training School in Minneapolis. She also attended U of M and Mankato State College.
Shirley taught school in Bricelyn, Richfield, and Bloomington, Minn.
She was a member of the United Church of Two Harbors.
Shirley enjoyed reading, painting landscapes, planting flower gardens, snowshoeing, watching mysteries, and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert of 54 years.
She is survived by her four children, Robert, James, Thomas, and Mary Davies; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
