Kristina Peterson

Kristina "Krispy" Peterson lost her two- year fight with a brain stem tumor on Jan. 27.

Kris was born and raised in Two Harbors by Robert "Meatball" and Jessie Carlson. She graduated from Two Harbors High School. Kris married Bruce "Big Thunder" Peterson on June 6, 1981. Kris and Bruce lived and raised their two sons, Justin and Jeremy, in Fredenberg for the next 25 years. After the boys went off to college, Kris went back to school to become an EEG Tech at the Duluth Clinic where she worked until she became too ill to continue. Kris had many interests and hobbies; she was an avid rollerblader, a self-taught knitter and crocheter and celebrated her true passion, quilting. She loved classic cars and going to car shows with her husband. Kris also enjoyed traveling west to the Pacific Ocean and southwestern desert.

Kris was preceded in death by her grandmother, Carrie Carlson and her mother, Jessie Carlson, both of Two Harbors. She is survived by father Meatball of Two Harbors; husband Bruce of Duluth; sons Justin (Susan) of Fridley and Jeremy (Jessica) of St. Louis Park; sister Kimberly (Bruce) of Ingleside, Ill.; and brother Bill (Philomenia) of Two Harbors.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at Clyde Iron Works, 2920 W. Michigan St.

The family would like to thank all of Kris' friends, medical staff, doctors and especially St. Mary's hospice, all whom made Krispy's last days more peaceful.
