Larry M. Swan

Larry M. Swan, 75, of Two Harbors, died on Sept. 13 at his home.

He was born on March 13, 1937, to Manley and Agnes (Listurd) Swan in Braham, Minn. He grew up with his mother and step-father, Leslie Havlick, in Braham where he attended schools. Larry then joined the Air Force, serving in Seoul, South Korea during the Korean War. He met Glenna Berry in New Hampshire and they were married on Feb. 2, 1960. Larry and Glenna moved to Minnesota in 1970 where he worked for ABEX Fiberglass in Two Harbors and North Star Steel in Duluth, retiring in 1994.

Larry loved fishing, hunting, bowling, and snowmobiling.

He is preceded in death by his father; step-father; mother; and sister, Sharon.

Larry is survived by wife Glenna; children, Cheryl Swan, Michael (Jackie) Swan, Leslie (Brad) Detlefsen, Pamela (Joel) Coolidge, and Heidi (Terry) Middleton; grandchildren Shawn, Megan, Tyler, Kylie, Skye, Jesse, Tana, and Andrew; brother Al (Jackie) Havlick; nephews Cody and Ian Havlick; and many cousins.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. memorial service on Wed., Sept. 19, 2012, at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors.
