Twyla Nowotczynski, 70, of Finland, died Monday, Aug. 6 2012, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.

Twyla Nowotczynski, 70, of Finland, died Monday, Aug. 6 2012, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.

She was born Nov. 29, 1941,to Sulo and Vera (Anderson) Haveri in Two Harbors. She grew up in Finland, attended school in Two Harbors, but was a member of the first graduating class from William-Kelley High School in Silver Bay. After graduation Twyla attended beautician school in Minneapolis, then worked for Dorothy Gale’s salon in Silver Bay. She married Thomas Nowotczynski on Aug. 1, 1964, in Gettysburg, South Dakota. They raised their family in Finland.

Twyla attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church and enjoyed bowling and gardening.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Thomas; brother Ward; and sister-in-law Mary.

Twyla is survived by her daughters Tianna (Billy) Sharp of Colorado and Shannon (Eric) Davis of Duluth; son Neil (Dianne) of Finland; grandchildren Shawn, Michael, and Connal; brother Darwyn (Janet) Haveri of Finland; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Silver Bay. Burial will be in Crystal Bay Cemetery. To sign the online guestbook please go to www.cavallinfuneralhome.com
