Lila Koski, 88, Two Harbors, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, in Ecumen Scenic Shores.
She was born April 10, 1923, to George and Impie (Hill) Mackey in Markham, Minn. Lila attended grade school in Markham, and later graduated from high school in Aurora. She married Ed Koski on January 30, 1943, in Virginia, Minn. They had three children, Judy, Keith, and Janet, and they lived in the Toimi/Brimson area on their 160 acre tree farm. Lila loved working on her flowers, and feeding birds, deer, and any hungry critters that stopped by.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; son, Keith; daughters, Janet Powell and Judy Smith; sister, Vivian Lund; brother, Arnold Mackey; sons-in-law, Chuck Powell and Russ Smith; grandson, Mark Powell; and step-grandson, Rusty Smith.
Lila is survived by her daughter-in-law, Erica Koski; grandchildren, Mike and Clint Powell, Marcy (Brian) Bentler, and Kim (Corey) Swartout; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Amber, Sarah, Zachary, Addison, Emilynn, Ethan, Avery, and Claire; six step-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery at a later date. To sign the online guestbook go to www.cavallinfuneralhome.com.
