Janis Lundberg

Janis Marin Lundberg, 78, of Two Harbors, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, in Ecumen Care Center in Two Harbors.

She was born Sept. 12, 1933, to Arthur and Ethel Edstrom in Two Harbors. She graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1951, and from Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis in 1954. She worked as a registered nurse at Lakeview Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Moose Local Chapter.

She was preceded in death by previous husband, Keith O. Johnson in 1983, and brother Neil Edstrom in 1997.

She is survived by husband Ned Lundberg; sister Gwenth “Bonnie” (Lester) Tangen of Brainerd, Minn.; daughter Leesa (Jerry) Lieffring of Duluth; son Gregory Johnson of Minneapolis; and daughter Kathleen Thompson of Reno, Nev.; granddaughters Sara (Luke) Nyberg of Gilbert, Miranda (Joseph) Durbin of Duluth, and Laura Lieffring of Los Angeles, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren, Hudson, Rachel and Karina (Kaleigh) Nyberg of Gilbert.

A gathering was held noon Wednesday, Dec. 14, in the AmericInn Lodge & Suites, 1088 Highway 61, Two Harbors.
