Joan Sullivan, 62, Two Harbors, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at St. Mary’s Essentia Health in Duluth.
Joan Sullivan, 62, Two Harbors, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at St. Mary’s Essentia Health in Duluth.
She was born September 2, 1949, to Melvin and Lorraine (Anderson) Edlund in Two Harbors, where she grew up and graduated from high school. Joan attended college in Iowa where she obtained a nursing degree. She worked at Stillwater Medical Group for many years before moving to Two Harbors in 1997 to care for her mother. Joan worked for various group homes around the Duluth area and eventually worked for Ecumen Scenic Shores in Two Harbors until her illness. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her beloved cats.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Michelle) of Lake Elmo and Jon (Ann) of St. Paul; long-time companion Leon Jacobson of Two Harbors; brother, Eric (Lynne) Edlund of Two Harbors; cousin, Claire Johnson of Two Harbors; nephews, Andy (Jen) Edlund of Duluth, Nik (Sarah) Edlund of Two Harbors, and Ryan (Theresa) Edlund of Lake St. Croix Beach; and many close friends.
Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
