Ruth “Tootsie” Margaret Schiller, 86, of Two Harbors, died Aug. 7, 2010, at the Sunrise Home in Two Harbors.

Ruth “Tootsie” Margaret Schiller, 86, of Two Harbors, died Aug. 7, 2010, at the Sunrise Home in Two Harbors.

She was born June 7, 1924 to Arthur and Hilma (Andersen) Carlstrom in Silver Creek Township. She grew up in Two Harbors and graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1942.

Tootsie worked at Commercial State Bank, Burns and Christensen Hospital, and Laura Lee Department Store. She married Harvey Schiller in 1947 and raised her family in Two Harbors.

Tootsie enjoyed cooking and maintaining a neat home.

During her 12-year stay at Sunrise Home, Tootsie enjoyed many casino and luncheon outings, playing bingo, and hundreds of games of kings in the corner with her many friends.

She was a strong woman with a good sense of humor and had a heart of gold.

Tootsie is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Harvey.

She is survived by her son, James of Falon, Nev.; daughter Susan Schiller of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Wendy (Brett) Powers and Bryan Schiller, all of Sparks, Nev., and Michael Harrison of Las Vegas; great-grandchildren, Dillon and Kennedy Powers, and Logan and Austyn Schiller, all of Sparks, Nev.; brother, Emery (Helen) Carlstrom of Two Harbors; niece, Laura Carlstrom of Houston; and nephew, Lee, of Sandy, Utah.

Visitation will be from noon until the 1 p.m. service Saturday at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery.

Refreshments and stories will follow from 2-4 p.m. at the Sunrise Home. Help celebrate Ruth’s life by bringing your memories.
