Hazel E. Graden died peacefully July 17 surrounded by her immediate family.
Born April 14, 1922, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Leonard; her parents, Olaf and Anna Soderlind; and her three sisters, Hildur, Myrtle, and Lilly.
Hazel was a lifelong resident of Two Harbors who was active in her community and Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
She was a certified teacher, spent 20 years working at Falk’s Drug, and several years as a teacher’s aide at John A. Johnson Elementary School.
She was a member of the VFW, VASA, and Girl Scouts. She was also the librarian of her church, and volunteered endless hours to many organizations, charities and events, such as the Two Harbors Public Library and DAC.
Hazel was an avid reader, writer, and beautiful singer. She was enrolling in courses through the College of St. Scholastica well into the 1990s.
She is also well remembered for the beautiful vintage fashion shows and displays she proudly assembled from her own personal collection for various groups.
Hazel is lovingly remembered by her immediate family: Daughter Emily (Jerry) Teeters, Two Harbors; son David, Miami; grandson J.D. (Denise Feig) Teeters, Two Harbors; granddaughter Anne (Ian) Bineham, London, England; and four great-grand- daughters, Autumn, Tamara, Anna Grace, and Hope- Eleanor; along with count- less family and friends.
A remembrance service took place at Emmanuel Lutheran Tuesday.
