Duane William Ruberg, 79, died peacefully at home Monday (June 28, 2010) with family at his side.
Duane William Ruberg, 79, died peacefully at home Monday (June 28, 2010) with family at his side.
He was born March 28, 1931, to William and Beatrice (Horsley) Ruberg in Two Harbors. He lived his entire life in Silver Creek, being self-employed as a fur farmer.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Bonnie, three children, Luanne (Scott) Hage, Shari (Blair) Raycraft, and Kevin (Deb) Ruberg, all of Two Harbors; six grandchildren, Ryan (Danielle) Sutherland, Cassie Barrick, Casey and Kelsey Raycraft, Hope and Ben Ruberg; five great grandchildren, Evan, Dylan, Jayla, Bryce, and Coy; sisters Delores (Dale) Tressler, Eileen (Bud) Wick, and Karen (Connie) Marker; brothers Alan (Beverly) Ruberg, and Gary (Wendy) Ruberg; and many nieces and nephews.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, William and Beatrice and brother Steve.
There will be a private family service with burial at the Silver Creek Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at 1 p.m. Monday at the Poor Farm, 1942/1944 Highway 3, Two Harbors.
