He attended school in Cumberland, participating in many activites including hockey, baseball and marching band. In 2005 he graduated from William Kelly High School in Silver Bay. He loved to spend his time hunting, fishing, camping, snowboarding, and riding his motorcycle.
Tanner Joseph Severson, 23, of Fall Creek, formerly of Cumberland, WI & Silver Bay, MN died Friday, June 25, 2010. He was born September 29, 1986 in Cumberland to Larry and Ann (Snyder) Severson.
He attended school in Cumberland, participating in many activites including hockey, baseball and marching band. In 2005 he graduated from William Kelly High School in Silver Bay. He loved to spend his time hunting, fishing, camping, snowboarding, and riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed helping others and living life to the fullest. He proudly served with the Wisconsin Army National Guard, including two tours in Iraq as a combat medic. He made many lasting friendships.
He will be dearly missed by his father, Larry Severson of Cumberland, WI; his mother, Ann Snyder of Silver Bay, MN; his sister, Laci Severson of Duluth, MN; an adopted brother, Christian Davey of USAF, Germany; maternal grandmother, Eleanor Snyder of Thatcher, AZ; aunts and uncles, Connie (Jim) Palmberg of Chippewa Falls, WI, Bonnie (Will) Olson of St. Cloud, MN, Sherry (Milton) Burton of Lynchburg, OH, Tammi (Robert) Stodola of Bennett, WI, Linda Severson and Tracy Severson, both of Cumberland, Susan (Geroge) Kochel of El Cajon, CA, John (Dena) Snyder of Cleburn, TX, Steve (Margaret) Snyder of Cotesville, PA and many cousins, friends and Army buddies.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Edna Severson, his maternal grandfather, Roy Snyder, and his aunt, Joan Snyder.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at St. Paul Lutheran Church - Cumberland, WI with Rev. Jon Miels officiating. Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spooner, WI. Military Honors accorded by the Wisconsin Army National Guard. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland, and for one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
A memorial service will be held in Silver Bay at a later date.
