Gladys Olson, 76, Duluth, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born May 2, 1933, to Isak and Hannah (Karlsen) Jacobson in Duluth, grew up in Larsmont, and graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1951.
After graduating from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1954, she worked as registered nurse at St. Luke’s hospital, the Duluth Air Base, St. Mary’s Medical Center, and Miller-Dwan until retiring.
In addition to her work, Gladys enjoyed time with her family vacationing, camping, boating, snowmobiling and fishing.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carl; daughters Jean Marie (Larry) Jacobson of Two Harbors, Judy (Craig) Clements of Brooklyn Park, and Denise (Dennis) LeMay of Saginaw; sons Jim (Wendy) of Duluth and John (Dena) of Maple; 13 grand- children; a brother, Ralph (Ruth Anne) Jacobson of Two Harbors; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 12:30 until a 1:30 p.m. service on Saturday at First Baptist Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Arrangements by Cavallin Funeral Home.
