Crossing over

Christopher Owen, Cassidy Olson and Adam Matthys during their 22-mile trek from Port Wing, Wis. to Two Harbors. The men were raising money for Minnesota Teen Challenge, a faith-based addiction recovery program from which Owen and Matthys graduated and Olson is close to completing. The men trained with John Burmeister of Mighty Oaks Academy, and he lent them the equipment for the trip. They were prepared for emergencies with a ham radio, flares, wetsuits, whistles and tow straps, but they got through the trip with few problems. The day was warm and calm and they had a tail wind the entire journey. They raised about $2000.
