A crowd gathered in Isabella last fall and listened as Forest Service personnel gave an account of the Pagami Creek fire actions Sept. 12, the day is raced across the Boundary Waters and threatened residences on the south border. Plenty of people brought up their displeasure with the Forest Service allowing what had started as a small fire burn through August. This week, a study placed no blame on decisions made before the fire exploded out of control.
