Two Harbors High School seniors in Mike Fitzpatrick's metals fabrication class worked to turn riding lawn tractors into hot rods for their senior projects. It took the students more than three weeks and the help of other kids in the class to complete more than six of the modified lawn mowers. Some of the beefed-up mowers can reach speeds up to 30 mph and can even pop a wheelie. There is one thing these mowers can't do: cut grass.
