Summer’s bounty as close as your farmers’ marketTwo Harbors Farmers’ Market vendors were busy Saturday morning at Thomas Owens Park. Customers stopped, chatted and selected produce, baked goods, sweet treats and craft items at the row of tables facing Second Avenue. Farmers said the growing season has been challenging with snow on May 1 and late frosts, but recent glimpses of the sun have been encouraging. Among the many vendors were Kim Swartout and two of her four children selling produce they grow at Valleyview Farm. So far the season’s yield has been small, but Swartout is cautiously optimistic.
