Gallery: Lake County newspaper archives of the Titanic disaster

It’s been 100 years since the Titanic struck an iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean on April 15, 1912, killing 1,512 of the 2,223 people that were sailing on the ship’s maiden voyage from England to the United States. While the tragic event happened thousands of miles away from Lake County, news of the disaster found its way to the pages of The Journal-News, the former name of the Lake County News-Chronicle.
