Great game with tough Swiss yesterday. Tomorrow (Friday) at noon vs Finland. They have the silver from 2006 and that experience will serve them well. Go USA!

Today is a big day in hockey. Noon the Czechs vs Russia, 4:40 USA vs Canada & at 9 PM Sweden plays Finland. Everywhere we go if we wear our hockey red white & blue, Canadians will stop and comment about the outcome of the game today. The city is a buzz with anticipation. I think it is safe to say "go Team USA" here on the blog! Chris

Yesterday, we took a tour bus to Whistler. What a gorgeous trip. 50 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. The village sits in a valley and 3/4 of the view around you are ski runs! We did't go to an event, as the times did not coincide with our arrival and departure. The trip itself was an Olympic event! We also accomplished some of our souvenier shopping. The official Olympic store waiting line was only ten minutes vs 1 1/2 hour for the one located in the historic Hudson Bay Company store in downtown Vancouver. The hot items are Olympic pins, red mittens with a white maple leaf (I think every Canadian has them), all the mascot items, coins, scarves & hats. We were fortunate to find our new hockey helmet hats. They are a non-Olympic licensed item that has won the fans over. Each one comes with a container of tooth blackout --- so when you wear your helmet it looks like you have teeth knocked out. Haha! Chris & John
