Rumor has it Holly has left Forum and it's actually tragic for both the LCNC and the company. There's no doubt that the content isn't what it used to be from a year ago. And although Forrest is a good man who cares about Lake County he wasn't the only one at the newspaper coming up with stories, developing special sections and bringing the publication to life through creative layout, advertising and events. Holly did an excellent job of illustrating in her column how a newspaper REALLY works. It's not just a big head with one man behind a current pulling the strings. It takes a team of knowledgeable, talented, dedicated and creative individuals. Every time one of them has left within the past year the product quality suffers even more.

Holly, I for one, like the new flavor of the paper and the website! I know many who say it is better now without the Liberal slant. I say keep up the good work. Thank you VERY much for a paper that is interesting and thought provoking!

Think about this for a second...... maybe if the Chronicle went back to its "local" flavor, less people would comment that there's nothing in the paper, which would result in more businesses wanting to advertise, which in turn would result in being able to hire another reported or two. Funny how I rarely heard "there's nothing in the paper" when Forrest was around. Now you can't walk down the street without someone making that statement. And Holly, when people are saying there's "nothing" in the paper, I would guess the majority of them are talking about the content, not the number of pages.
