Where the money goes: United Way North Shore Campaign 
When communities along the North Shore work together, we all benefit. On March 15, a group of local volunteers met to determine how the $34,500 raised here would stay here. This money represent support from corporate and individuals at these local businesses: Canadian National, city of Two Harbors, Co-op Light & Power, Human Development Center, The Lake Bank, Lake County Veterinary Clinic, Lake Superior School Dist. #381, Lake View Hospital, Minnesota Power, Northshore Mining, Northshore Steel and Stanley LaBounty.

But that’s harder to do for some people. Friends of the Library member Kay Hensgens says the Friends of the Library Outreach Program aims to help put books in the hands of people who may find it more difficult to go to the library.

New Two Harbors pet ordinance limits households to three dogs, cats 
After several months of public hearings, the new Two Harbors pet ordinance got its first reading Monday.
The ordinance sets a three-dog and three-cat limit, Councilor Seth MacDonald said. If a resident owns more than that number, a 60-day amnesty period has been granted.
