Heavy snow and sleet is causing difficult driving conditions in parts of the Northland this afternoon.
Scanner reports have indicated several rollover accidents in the Virginia and Mountain Iron areas, as well as along state Highway 169 south of Tower.
A band of heavy snow continued to move along and north of the Iron Range as of 2 p.m. A weather spotter in Chisholm reported 4.8 inches of snow as of midday.
Meanwhile, the Twin Ports received snow overnight, followed by rain and freezing rain this morning, and then a switch back to snow this afternoon. Roads in Duluth were becoming slippery, especially over the hill, as of early afternoon.
