Cloquet’s own “stomp-grass” trio will release their third studio album this month with a string of shows over Thanksgiving weekend.
Four years after Tony Petersen and Jamie Kallestad originally formed Saint Anyway as an acoustic side project and a summer job, their music has caught fire – carrying the boys from Colorado to New York City and back. With their latest album, “Here On The Ground,” the trio (now including Dane Levinski) feels they have finally captured the energy and spontaneity of their live shows. The new disc includes 13 original songs and features several guest musicians who add color to the band’s core instrumentation of guitar, banjo and bass. The result is a bigger, fuller and more dynamic Saint Anyway than ever before.
To pick up a copy of the new album, be sure to catch the boys’ Thanksgiving Day performance at 7:30 p.m. at Gordy’s Warming House in Cloquet. Saint Anyway will also play at 9 p.m. Nov. 23 at Cheer’s Sports Bar and Grill and at 8 p.m. Nov. 25 at Red Mug Coffee in Superior, Wis. Music and complete tour schedule is available online at www.saintanyway.com.
