Deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Gary Koski. Gary died on Sunday, May 26. Gary was a longtime resident graduating from William Kelley High School in 1966. A memorial service was held on Friday, May 31, at the Range Funeral Home in Hibbing. Several locals attended the service.

Don Runnberg and Jean Wagner motored to the Twin Cities for the weekend to take in Don’s grandson, Ryan’s, soccer games. Congratulations to Ryan’s team as they took first place.

Members of the Little Marais Community Club met for their monthly meeting on Monday evening. The Minnesota Department of Transportation was there to discuss the highway project that will be starting on Highway 61, north of Highway 1, midsummer. Final plans are still being discussed. Information given was that a detour from Highway 1 to County Rd 6, will be a maximum of 4 1/2 days. In the summer of 2014, there could be a detour for a maximum 18 ½ days while the project is being completed.
