Twins to lead summer swim camp
Two Harbors Community Education announces the area’s first swim camp for competitive swimmers ages 9 – 17. The camp will take place July 29 – Aug. 2. Twins and 2001 Two Harbors High School graduates Lindsay and Beth DeLaRosby will coach the camp. Both women were collegiate swimmers, earned master’s degrees in physical education at Springfield College, Mass., and have extensive coaching and teaching experience.
Beth, head women’s swim coach at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisc., for the past five years, has taught at swim camps throughout the midwest and on the east coast. Lindsay has coached at Gustavus Adolphus College, Springfield College and is currently assisting at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J. Both women have coached national champions and teams finishing in the top ten in the NCAA Division III.
The DeLaRosby twins say they are excited to return to the North Shore area to help young swimmers improve. At the conclusion of the camp, each camper will take home a video of his or her swim stroke with comments by the coaching staff.

Swim practice starts early
Starting June 17,Two Harbors swim coaches Heather Mayfield and Kathy Ronning will be offering swimming and diving practices for athletes interested in being on the girls swimming and diving team. These practices are offered to swimmers from Two Harbors or Silver Bay going into 7-12 grades in the 2013-14 school year. These practices are an excellent opportunity to work on fundamentals, technique, starts and turns. Practices will be held Monday thru Wednesday from 4-6 p.m until July 24. There will be no practice the week of July 1-5. All athletes should bring a suit, cap, goggles, dry-land clothes and gym shoes. If you have any questions, call Coach Mayfield at 391-8629.
