Seeking nominations for Outstanding Conservationists
From Jennifer Thiemann, Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District
Do you know an individual or organization that is committed to conservation in Lake County? Have you maintained a buffer between your mowed lawn and a lake or creek? Cleaned up a polluted site? Fenced your livestock from your pond or stream? Had a timber harvest and stabilized the highly erodible soil from erosion? Encouraged wildlife habitat in your backyard? Committed to a career in natural resources management? Coordinated environmental education or outreach events for the community? If you or someone you know are doing good things for the environment and conserving natural resources, we would like to know about it! Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is seeking nominations for the Outstanding Conservationist of the Year. The Lake County winner will be considered for the state award and invited to attend the Minnesota Association of SWCDs annual convention in Bloomington on December 1-3, 2013.
