Congratulations to Mike and Karen Sinderman on the birth of their new baby boy. Graylan James Sinderman was born on Sunday, May 19, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He weighed 8lbs 1½ oz. and was 21¼ “ long. Proud grandparents are Jim and Donna Blomberg and Jim and Verna Sinderman. Proud great grandparents are Larry and Phyllis Sinderman.
Get well wishes go out to Lois Peterson who spent a few days in St. Mary’s Hospital and is now at home.
Deepest sympathy goes out to Cynthia (Rab) Smallwood in the recent loss of her mother.
Ruth Himes and Judy Martell held an open house for family and friends on Saturday, in celebration of Ruth’s, Judy’s and Eugene Himes birthdays. Eugene left on Tuesday to return to his home in Japan.
Deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends of John Fredrickson. John died on Saturday, May 18, at the age of 54. A memorial mass was held on Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Lake Superior Community Theatre Executive Director Paul Deaner (of Little Marais Road) and LSCT leaders met this past Tuesday, May 21, to evaluate the recent production of “Death of a Salesman” and to begin planning the next production of the blockbuster, Tony Award winning musical “Fiddler on the Roof” to be staged at Two Harbors High School this April. It will be the first time LSCT will stage a play at THHS.
Congratulations to Emma Deaner, who graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday. Family and friends then gathered at Emma’s to celebrate. A great meal was cooked by Joyce Yamamoto of Little Marais and Emma’s mother Suze. Emma will be starting her part-time jobs this week.
A party was held at the Clair Nelson Center on Saturday in honor of Jim Bischoff. Jim retired from the Minnesota State Parks after 36 years of service. Congratulations Jim. Enjoy your retirement!
Betty Lillback celebrated her 75th birthday on Monday, May 20. Her daughter Terri Mae Lillback from Kansas and her cousin Laura Billings from New York flew in. They drove up to surprise Betty on Saturday and spend a long weekend with her. Her family treated Betty to dinner at Grand Superior Lodge to celebrate her special day. They spent a relaxing day visiting on Monday. Happy Birthday Betty!
