Letter to the editor: Two Harbors Area Food Shelf gives thanks
By: Phill Arnold,Two Harbors Food Shelf Director, Lake County News Chronicle
On Saturday, May 11, members of the National Association of Letter Carriers at the Two Harbors area post office conducted the local version of the National Letter Carriers Drive to End Hunger. The drive was an ENORMOUS success! Thanks to the work of the letter carriers and the generosity of the Two Harbors community, the Two Harbors Food Shelf received more than 6,100 pounds of food and other items. This amount is 50 percent more than the drive last year!
A heartfelt thank you to:
• The letter carriers who picked up bags of food and transported them to the food shelf
• Volunteers who unloaded the food and sorted them into boxes
• Super One, Do North Pizza and Subway who donated food for workers and volunteers
• People in the Two Harbors area who supported this drive with your donations!
Thank you for making this annual event such a success!
