Still no baseball
It appeared that the Mariner baseball team might have a couple of games under its belts now, but it was not to be. Their appearance at the Metrodome did not occur since they were stranded at home by the latest April snowstorm. It’s still anyone’s guess as to when outdoor play will get underway for spring sports.
May 11 fishing opener in question
As of April 17 there were 30 inches of ice on Nine Mile Lake. This would be indicative of conditions on other area lakes and make an open-water fishing opener on May 11 very unlikely, without a big increase in the temperature.
