The New Year has brought a lot of change for Thoa and Dung Nguyen. The couple just bought the Vietnamese Lantern in Two Harbors and moved here from Austin, Minn., to take over their new venture.
While both are originally from Vietnam, Dung has worked at various restaurants in Minnesota for 17 years. Thoa came to the U.S. just two years ago, but said she has years of experience in the restaurant industry in the country she previously called home.
Dung’s specialty is cooking and he’s already developed some new recipes for the restaurant. With their ownership comes a completely different menu, he said. Their grand reopening is this Friday. Their regular business hours will be 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday and they’ll stay open until 9:30 Fridays and Saturdays. A lunch buffet will be offered daily 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and the dinner buffet will be from 4-8:30 p.m.
