Curb Appeal Improvement Contest underway in Two Harbors
By: News-Chronicle, Lake County News Chronicle
In spite of a recent spate of wintry weather and cold temperatures, spring will come to Lake County. It’ll be time to think about all those home and yard projects left undone when the snow began to fly last fall—raking, landscaping, painting, hauling away the scrap from remodeling projects. Whatever the case, the Two Harbors City Council plans to reward a few of its constituents for projects well done.
At a meeting in February, councilor Seth Mc Donald proposed a Curb Appeal Improvement Contest, with $700 in cash—$100 from each of the seven councilors—to be awarded to the most impressive improvements. The councilors unanimously agreed to participate. At the Two Harbors City Council meeting Monday night, Mc Donald announced that another donor had added $300 to the pot for a total of $1000 in prize money.
Applications and rules for the Curb Appeal Improvement Contest are available online at the City of Two Harbors website: http://www.ci.two-harbors.mn.us. Contestants must live within the official city limits of Two Harbors, and be the owner of record of the property for which they’re submitting the application. Contestants have until Sept. 30 at 4 p.m. to submit their applications with before and after photos of their projects.
Ready. Set. Go!
