Victim in logging truck crash near Two Harbors identified
The man who died on Thursday afternoon when his pickup truck collided with a logging truck northwest of Two Harbors was Herbert “Bud” Kragseth, 85, of Two Harbors, a family member confirmed.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash happened at about 2:45 p.m. at County Road 12 (Westover Road) and Holm Road. A tractor-trailer logging truck driven by a 48-year-old Duluth man collided with the pickup truck that Kragseth was driving. The sheriff’s office hasn’t released the logging truck driver’s name.
Kragseth died at the scene. The driver of the logging truck was uninjured. Neither vehicle was carrying passengers.
The sheriff’s office and Minnesota State Patrol are investigating.
Kragseth was a lifelong Two Harbors resident who worked as an electrician and was a 65-year member of the Sons of Norway.
