THREE MILES OF GRAVELING DONE BY KNIFE RIVER PIONEER

Thos. Rilley is overseer of highways for the town of Two Harbors and has recently completed the job of graveling three-quarters of a mile of the town line road between the town of Two Harbors and Waldo. Mr. Rilley is one of the oldest Minnesota pioneers residing in Lake County having come to this state in 1859. He is the father of four sons and six daughters and seven grandchildren all residing at Knife River.

BOGEY MAN IN WOMEN’S CLOTHES

Reports have been current for more than a week that a man dressed in woman’s clothing has chased women and children on several occasions. Definite instances had been cited to the police only to have them dissipated when an investigation is made. The police have checked on every report only to find there is nothing tangible on which to work.

BABY CARE, GROWTH ARE MEET TOPICS

The first class in a series of three for expectant parents will be open at Lake View Memorial Hospital. The classes are designed to cover subjects of interest regarding growth and development of baby, importance of proper health habits, diet and clothing for expectant mothers, among other topics. It is sponsored by the Two Harbors Mrs. Jaycees and conducted by Dr. William Hilgedick, Dr. Harold Leppink and Mrs. Lola Johnson, RN. Fathers-to-be are especially urged to attend because “having a baby is a family affair”.

SCHOOLS TEAM UP TO MAKE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC

For the first-ever Lake Superior Schools Music Festival, the music departments of Kelley High School, Two Harbors High School, and Minnehaha Middle School will combine forces on March 15th. Groups participating will be the combined Kelley/Two Harbors High School Choirs, combined bands from both high schools, combined Middle School bands and numbers by the high school choirs and bands together. The program will help celebrate National Music in Our Schools Month.
