This ship will uncoil a reel of pipe, sending it to the floor of the North Sea off the coast of Norway. The pipe will connect to a valve and a network of oil distribution lines some 5000 feet below the water’s surface.

Presentation about Norway on Sunday

Sons of Norway president, Ralph Jacobson, will present “Unbelievable Oil Exploration in the North Sea off the Norwegian Coast,” on Sunday Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. at the Two Harbors Community Center. The presentation will include photographs taken on his most recent trip to Norway. The community is invited to attend, have lunch and learn more about Norway’s approach to environmentally progressive methods of petroleum extraction and distribution.

VA Home Loan seminar to be offered

Lake County Veterans Service Office is hosting a VA Home Loan seminar. VA Home Loan representatives, a leading lender, and realtors will present information on a number of topics, including:

• The VA Home Loan process

• First time buyers – certificates of eligibility

• Multiple use of benefits – refinancing.

The seminar will take place Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the Lake County Service Center at 3:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served and myths surrounding VA Home Loans will be de-bunked.
