Alicia Nopola, a senior at William Kelley High School, is pictured signing her National Letter of Intent alongside her basketball coach Dan Johnson. Nopola will be taking her basketball talents to Mayville State University in North Dakota. Nopola has been averaging 21.5 points per game this season for the Mariners.
“Mayville is a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Division II school and I felt it was the best fit for me both athletically and academically,” Nopola said. She plans to pursue a degree in elementary education and coaching.
“I want to thank my parents and coaches for their support over the years I have played, and Mr. Otterblad for encouraging me to begin playing even when I wasn’t sure I was going to like basketball. I’m going to miss my teammates very much, but I am also excited to be moving on to the next level,” Nopola said.
