Letter to the editor: Photo ID question

I was surprised at the article in last week’s paper, “North Shore tax sites help seniors maximize returns.”

Toward the end of the article on page seven, it stated that anyone utilizing the free tax sites should try to bring along a social security card, photo identification as well as other records.

Was not the photo ID voted down in the last election?

Now it is suggested that to file a tax return a photo ID should accompany the paper work.

Will this suggestion deter seniors and low income folks from filing taxes and receiving, in many cases, their tax refunds?

How is filing taxes more important that your vote?
