Correction: Feb. 1

Last week the Lake County News-Chronicle erred in its report of the City’s costs for the new fixed base operation hangar to be built at the Richard B. Helgeson Airport.

The correct figures, submitted by Councilor Seth McDonald are:

The total estimated cost of the project is $800,000. The Minnesota Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division will provide 50 percent of that amount, or $400,000. The Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board will contribute $300,000 toward the remaining $400,000 leaving the city to pay about $100,000. As the $800,000 estimate is thought to be high, the City expects that the actual amount of its cost for the project will be $50-$100,000.

MnDOT-- $400k

IRRRB-- $300k

City $50k to $100k
