Just Kids Dental, a non-profit offering dental cleaning, fluoride treatments, sealants, floss, toothpaste and toothbrushes to underserved children, recently received a donation from the Northeastern District Dental Society and a $2500 donation from Great River Energy.
“On behalf of our member cooperatives throughout Minnesota, it’s a privilege to support the important work of Just Kids Dental. Providing preventive dental care at school benefits children’s health, well-being and education,” said Daniel Becchetti, Communications Coordinator for Great River Energy.
JKD is based in Two Harbors and serves children in 3 Minnesota and 1 Wisconsin County. It has provided over $3.5 million in services since it was founded by Stacey Anderson, Just Kids Dental Executive Director.
“Few people realize tooth decay is the single most common childhood chronic disease,” said Anderson, “Dental sealants applied on permanent molars can help prevent many of these cavities. Sealants are just one of the many services we provide at no cost to school districts.”
