May Ann Gran, 80, of Lidgerwood, N.D., passed away Saturday, Jan.12, at St. Gerard’s Community of Care, Hankinson, N.D. Funeral mass will be Thursday, Jan. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Lidgerwood, N.D. Burial will be at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery, Two Harbors, Minn. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mary Ann Polansky was born at Lidgerwood, N.D. on Jan.16, 1932, the daughter of Alois and Mary (Arth) Polansky. She attended country school Dexter No. 3 and graduated from Lidgerwood High School in 1949. She moved to Two Harbors in 1952 and was a resident ever since. She married her husband Roger on July 20, 1968. She worked several years at the CHC Board and Care on First Avenue and she was a homemaker. Mary Ann was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the Catholic Council of Women, the Two Harbors American Legion and Women of the Moose Chapter 109. In 1984-85 she was the Deputy Grand Regent of the Women of the Moose for the State of Minnesota.
Mary Ann is survived by a step-son, Todd (Barb) Sjoberg of Mora, Minn; three step-grandsons: Steven (Lisa), Moorhead, Minn., Jason (Debbie), Mora, Minn., and Ryan Sjoberg, San Diego, Calif.; two step-great-granddaughters: Ingrid and Maggie; a step-great-grandson, Raylan; two brothers: Al Polansky, Tacoma, Wash., and Bernard (Evelyn) Polansky, Lidgerwood, N.D.; a sister, Margaret Maczkowicz, Lidgerwood, N.D., and a brother-in-law: LuVern Illies, Lidgerwood, N.D., as well as many nieces & nephews.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband Roger of 40 years, a son, her parents, her sister, Madeline Illies, her brother, Pete Polansky, sister-in-law, Bernice Polansky and brother-in-law: Bernie
Maczkowicz, Sr.
