Chiropractor joins the neighborhood

Dr. Jason N. Menge has hung out his shingle at 115 Waterfront Drive.
He will offer chiropractic services in the office previously occupied by Life Compass Services.
Menge, a University of Minnesota-Duluth alumnus, received his Doctor of Chiropractic and Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minn. on Nov. 16, 2012. Menge joined the staff of Associated Chiropractic Physicians as an associate practicing with Dr. Robert J. Torgrimson.
Menge is married to Jessica (Rust) Menge and is the son of Jody and the late Mark Menge of Crookston, Minn.
Menge describes his practice as preventative medicine and said chiropractors often s to solve problems without drugs or prescription medications.
“Chiropractic is really about fixing the connection between your brain and body. It’s not just about backs and necks anymore,” he said.
Menge said he became interested in chiropractic medicine because of the care he received from his uncle, also a chiropractor. Menge suffers from asthma and his uncle treated him and made the condition manageable. Rather than turning to medication, he said, chiropractors ask their patients to make lifestyle changes to improve their health.
“What we like to do is create a plan for you,” Menge said.
Chiropractors are trained physicians and can perform basic physical check-ups as well as specialized care. Menge said his office is kid-friendly, too—ear aches, a common childhood affliction, can often be treated with chiropractic techniques and advice.
“We like it to be an entire family affair,” he said.
Some services will be covered by most insurance plans, he said—patients can call Menge’s office or their insurance provider for more information about coverage.
Associated Chiropractic Physicians-Two Harbors opened on Monday, Jan. 7. Clinic hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Reach Dr. Menge by calling his office at 834-8020.
