Savannah Juenemann, a senior at Two Harbors High School won the Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District logo design contest. The contest was open to Lake County residents of all ages and included a $100 cash prize. The SWCD Board of Supervisors reviewed sixteen entries, but did not know who the artists were until the winner was chosen.
Lake County SWCD was formed in 1965, but never had an official logo. “Our new logo will help the community recognize and understand our work to protect natural resources across Lake County” said Jennifer Thiemann, District Manager.
Lake County SWCD is an independent local government unit that provides technical assistance and financial incentives to public and private landowners in Lake County for conservation practices.
