Volunteer spotlight: Food shelf serves up Thanksgiving for Two Harbors families

In a record-breaking distribution, the Two Harbors Food Shelf distributed turkey dinner and more to 52 households last Tuesday. A special thanks to the amazing generosity of the Two Harbors community, including API, North Shore Community School and Super One Foods. API and the school donated a total of 34 turkey dinners with support from Super One for bakery items. Additional items were donated by Knife River Lutheran, Bethlehem Lutheran, United Church and Emmanuel Lutheran. Many community members donated cash, turkeys and other food for families who were very grateful.
A crew of dedicated volunteers made last week’s distribution happen. As the holiday season is upon us, the food shelf would like to thank the Two Harbors community in advance for making weekly distributions happen with donations of cash and food items. The need in the community is especially high this year, so any contributions are greatly appreciated.
