Volunteer spotlight: Debbie Bolan
By: Jan O'Donnell for the Lake County News-Chronicle , Lake County News Chronicle
Debbie Bolan has a warm heart and flying fingers. For the last several months, she has been crocheting warm hats, mittens, scarves, and sewing other items to donate to those in need in the community. She is participating in the "Warm Fuzzy" program of RSVP/AEOA. RSVP serves as a clearing house for donated home crafted products, making a connection to individuals and families who may not be able to afford necessary winter gear.
RSVP also invites crafters who have extra or left over yarn and fabric to donate their surplus supplies for use by those in the Warm Fuzzy program or quilters in the region.
Debbie said participation in the Warm Fuzzy program keeps her fingers busy and that it makes her feel good to donate what she is making to the community. But, she would like others in the community to join in her efforts.
If you love to crochet, knit or sew, and want to donate your products, please contact Jan at RSVP/NVC at 834-2280, ext. 108.
Arrowhead RSVP is part of Senior Corps and sponsored by AEOA. Funding is
provided by the Corporation for National & Community Service; Minnesota Board
on Aging; St. Louis and Lake Counties.
